Using The Student Portal

The Student Portal is a central place where students can easily manage different aspects of their learning including interacting with
teachers and classmates, submitting assignments, updating profile, etc.
Students can access the portal by using their login details via the navigation link on their AF website or through the URL: https://yourwebsite.com/af/students

Course Feed and Posts
Accessing the Course Feed
The course feed is a constantly updating list of posts which can be in a form of status updates, photos, videos, assignments, or documents. Students can interact with each other by liking and leaving comments on other's posts.
To access the Course Feed:
- Log in to the Student Portal via: https://yourwebsite.com/af/students
- In the left-hand menu, click "Courses".
- Select a certain course to access the feed.
Writing a Post
Both teachers and students have access to writing a post. When writing a post, you can format the content such as making it bold, italic, adding links, and several other options available in the rich text editor.
You may also upload photos, videos, or files. Pasting a link will show up a preview of the site.
Managing Assignments
When an assignment with a deadline has been created, it will be automatically posted and pinned (bookmark icon) on the top of the course feed.
Students can submit their work through the post associated with the assignment. They can also view their submission and check the grade after the teacher has reviewed the assignment.
Submitting an Assignment
To submit an assignment:
- In the course feed, click the "Submit my work" button in the assignment post.
- Write descriptions in the Content field.
- Click the "Upload a file" to upload the assignment.
- Click the "Submit" button.
Viewing My Submission
After submitting an assignment, to view your submission:
- In the course feed, click the "My Submission" button in the assignment post,
- You can also check and download your assignments through "My Assignments" in the left-hand menu.
Timetable
The Student Portal timetable provides students with a nice calendar view of their class schedules. Students can alter the calendar view based on Day, Week, and List.
Note: The timetable view will only show courses that the student is currently enrolled in.
Downloading/Printing Course Certificates
After the course has ended, students will be allowed to download/print the course certificate if they have passed the course.
To download/print the course certificate:
- Click the "Courses" tab in the left-hand menu.
- In the courses table, select the course for which you'd like to download/print the certificate.
- Click the "Print" button in the Certificate column.
- Select the corresponding certificate in the pop-up window, and then click the "Print" button.
- There are options in the PDF editor for you to download/print the course certificate.
Updating Profile and Downloading/Printing Membership Card
Updating Profile
On the My Profile page, students can edit their profile details including:
- Uploading a profile image.
- Updating personal details.
- Adding a secondary email address.
- Setting up a display name.
- Changing password.
Downloading/Printing Membership Card
To download/print the membership card:
- Click the "My Profile" tab in the left-hand menu.
- At the top right of the profile, click the corresponding button to download or print the membership card.
Switching Between Linked Accounts
Student Portal allows a user to switch or log in as another user when the two users are linked (usually students and their parents).
To switch to another linked account:
- Hover on the name at the top-right of the page.
- A list of accounts available for switching will show up in the drop-down menu.
- Select the linked account to switch.
Changing Themes and Notification Settings
There are four themes available for students to choose by navigating to Settings > Themes.
Under Settings > Email Notifications, students can also choose whether they want to receive an
email notification or not for different events that happen in their courses. By default, these options are turned on.
